The svn commit sub-command sends local changes to the source code repository.

The Commit Message

The commit message can be specified on the command line with the -m or --message options.

The commit message can also be read from a file, specified on the command line, with the --file or -F options.

A text editor, external to Subversion, can be used to create the commit message by setting its path to the SVN_EDITOR environment variable.
