2D Image to 3D Printable Model

This video demonstrates a workflow for converting 2D images to 3D models that are fit for printing. The workflow was originally posted on Instructables: http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-3D-print-from-a-2D-drawing/

The input for the process is any image you can edit with the G.I.M.P. and the output is a .stl file for 3D printing.

Before you try the workflow, make sure the OpenSCAD Plugin for Inkscape is installed.

The files for the 3D prints seen in the video are on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/onebeartoe/collections/2d-image-to-3d-model
